(cough) Can you hear me at the back?

I just googled the phrase “Just.another.WordPress.weblog”, the default WordPress tagline.
Twelve million, six hundred thousand hits.

It makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Do that many bloggers really like that default phrase? Or is it that they have yet to discover how to change it? Noobs like me, I expect. A bit nervous, still finding their way around the WordPress interface, and slightly wary of breaking things.

Anyhow, let me welcome you to number twelve million, six hundred thousand and one, and the next time Google indexes this blog, the tagline will have changed to what you see now.

A quick mention of John Sinteur, who (unwittingly) inspired me to start this blog. I came across his site The Daily Irrelevant ages ago while combing through someone’s online bookmarks file. This must have been in the “early” days of blogging, ooh, way back five or six years ago.

I visited regularly because of the eclectic range of posts on John’s site, and started e-mailing him suggestions for posts. After a while, he trustingly invited me to post direct to The Daily Irrelevant, which I still do when inspiration and work pressure permit.
