“Traintamarre”
For the last four years the students at Les Gobelins have produced short films to introduce the sessions of films in competition at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
This year the third year students have created 5 films using traditional as well as all digital techniques.
Each production crew, consisting of four or five students, is given a four month (Jan – April) deadline to produce around 90 seconds of animation.
A brief round up:

“Traintamarre”
Created by: Béatrice BOURLOTON, Sébastien PIQUET, Eléa GOBBE MEVELLEC, & Benjamin L’HOSTE

“Sebastien”
(Some beautiful panning backgrounds in this one!)

“Sebastien”
Created by Geneviève GODBOUT, Carole CARRION, Mourad SEDDIKI, & Samuel WAMBRE
Sebastien makes reference to the Annecy Festival tradition of throwing paper darts at the screen.

“Pyrats”

“Cocotte Minute”
A berserk race to the death by 2 chickens watched by what seems to be several hundred blood lust crazed chefs.
Created by: Thibault BERARD, Sylvain MARC, Loïc MIERMONT, Amandine PECHARMAN, Nathalie ROBERT & Romain VACHER

These animation students produce some terrific work. Have a look at the archive of previous festival shorts by Gobelins students.
