Here’s the first picture to be released from the feature length film Parisian Monster directed by Bibo and written by Eric & Ramzy. This visual development art appeared in Studio magazine.
The 85 minute film slated for release at Christmas 2008 features the voice talents of Vanessa Paradis and Kevin Kline, has a relatively modest budget of 22 million Euros, which is pretty good value for a CG production.
Eric & Ramzy’s other property, a TV series called MootMoot will soon air on Canal+ in France.
UPDATE: 6th December 2006 Bibo has just announced the opening of a new 3D animation studio in central Nice, called Bibo Studio that will employ about 120 animators and technicians. Here’s the Google Earth placemark. (I hope that works!)
According to local press reports, the release date of The Parisian Monster has now shifted to the last quarter of 2008 or the beginning of 2009.
Luc Besson’s company, Europacorp, is behind the distribution deal, and regional assistance has been provided by the local development board of the Alpes-Maritimes.
Matt Jones is in the initial team. (link ).
The chat on Catsuka’s board is about the styling of the film being in the manner of the great Belgian cartoonist: Franquin. (See here also).
