Do you know the artist who created this spring time image?
Some people know him better for his writing than for his painting.
I’m a bit busy at the moment, but soon I’ll have a little time free to present you with more visual treats from this polymath.

granville redmond!
(i know it’s not but i couldn’t just not guess anything!) (and it sorta coulda been)
how about a hint as to where it’s a painting of?
It could have been Redmond, I see where you’re coming from with that, and the artist’s dates are eerily close, too.
Clue: Those middle distance white trees are almonds in blossom, and the cypresses on the left are found around the Mediterranean.
Yes it’s another darn’ European.
Any use?
yeah, see, i’m spoiled, being here in california (as was redmond); my almond tree has just blossomed for the year!
don’t know about the cypresses, but they do call this a mediterranean climate.
i wonder if i even know this person. i didn’t that last time.
how about SOROLLA Y BASTIDA, Joaquin? no, it’s not anything like his style, but he’s someone i just learned about and i like his work so i thought i’d mention him!
lotusgreen. Thanks for persisting with this little mystery!
Sorolla and the artist in question were indeed contemporaries, however the mystery painter was very well known for his paintings of gardens, whereas Sorolla tends to be remembered for his vigorous figure paintings, particularly plein air works at the seaside.
Another hint if you want to play along: Majorca
