Festivus time is here again!
Festivus has different meanings for many different people.
For us animation people here in the UK, it means an occasional gathering of the loose tribes of freelancers associated with various UK animation studios.
It’s a good time to meet former colleagues, swap gossip and job tips, and sink a few beers in the company of completely mad fun loving animation artists.
It normally happens upstairs at The Comedy (the pub, not the Comedy Store) at 7 Oxendon Street, London SW1Y 4EE, (parallel to The Haymarket) in the centre of our throbbing metrolopis. Click here for MAP
Tonight sees the launch of the Festivus job website, whose tagline is: “Jobs for the rest of us”.
There’s a tempting introductory offer of 3 months free subscription to the website for peeps who register before the 30th of June.
If you’re a UK animator and you want to be put on the mailing list for future social events, then come and have a bevvy tonight and drop your business card on Rob (Docherty) or Ian (McCue), or just mail robertdocherty {at} btinternet [dot] com and beg him to put you on the list for the next Festivus.
He’s quite open to bribery.
