AAArghh! Why does it always have to be on Tuesday evenings? There’s another life drawing group that meets on the same night! Choices, choices…
“Meetup” is a social grouping messageboard that puts together people who have interests in common .
UPDATE: Frankie, the moderator / organiser of the Meetup group has left a comment at the bottom of this post, about a Meetup this Sunday, just off Oxford Street.

This Meetup Group is for cartoonists, animators, caricaturists, character designers and illustrators.
We are non-profit making: we split the cost of the studio and model each time.
Opportunity to draw or photograph a model in action and in character poses. Quick poses and poses to request. eg model expresses anger or model flies through the air (ha ha ok, balances on a box?).
Clothed / costumes / nude
Models will vary. We may book actors, performers and professional life-models.The session won’t be a class although we can share tips on technique.
Option to go for a drink after the session.
Benefits of group:
* More dynamic than the usual figure sitting on a box draped in sheets setup
* Useful if you’re rusty on drawing and want to get back into it.
* Useful if you have a specific project on the go and need reference sketches.
* Ever just got totally stuck on hands?!
* Good to meet other like minded people and exchange ideas or discuss solutions to common problemsLocation: Central London
A room / studio with comfortable chairs and preferably decent light.
Possibly with easels, but that isn’t essential at the start.
It may be interesting to have try different venues on occasion as well as having a regular venue.Monthly at first but aiming for weekly if there’s a good turn out.
Duration
2 hours, 6.30pm – 8.30pm?The Future / Ideas
* A session with the theme ‘looking down’ – we could find a venue with a balcony and draw the figure from above. Same goes for ‘looking up’!
* Plan an exhibition of our work
* Go to events such as the Pictoplasma conference in Berlin
* Meet with other Meetup groups such as the Flash group or maybe international groups
* Collaborate on projects
