Rockwell Kent

Here’s #2 in this series of snow scenes in the run up to Christmas. It’s by Rockwell Kent, and he painted it in March 1933 in Greenland.

Some lovely temperature contrasts at work here.

Hi Lotus, nice to know you still drop by! I’ll put a link to more of his paintings in the next comment box, because URLs always get mangled in comments. No, I don’t know why!

    Hi Mike,
Rockwell Kent is a favorite of mine and his book ‘Voyaging Southward from the Strait of Magellan’ was one of the sources of inspirations for the name of my site. Thanks for reminding us how good he was. A very progressive thinker too.
    Cheers.

@luc: You know what? I think it might well have been you who opened my ignorant eyes to RK, all those years ago, in beautiful downtown Acton.
I’ll put that book on my reading list, thanks for the tip.
